Introduction

317L austenitic stainless steel plate is a low carbon stainless steel plate (≤0.03% C) with high molybdenum content (3-4%), offering high corrosion resistance superior to 316L. As a 317L molybdenum stainless steel plate, its elevated Mo level significantly enhances pitting resistance and crevice corrosion resistance, making it ideal for severe corrosion environments. Manufactured to ASTM A240 (UNS S31703), this 317L corrosion resistant stainless steel plate is widely used in the chemical industry, marine environment, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, pulp and paper industry, and pharmaceutical equipment—wherever chlorides, acids, or high-temperature corrosive media challenge standard grades. For critical service, 317L high corrosion resistant stainless steel plate for marine use and UNS S31703 stainless steel plate for flue gas desulfurization are preferred choices.
