Introduction

15-7PH precipitation hardening stainless steel (also 15-7PH PH stainless steel, 15-7PH high strength stainless steel, 15-7PH spring stainless steel, 15-7PH cold rolled stainless steel strip) is a semi-austenitic precipitation hardening alloy that combines high strength and elasticity with excellent fatigue resistance and good spring properties. It is available in multiple heat treatment conditions including 15-7PH RH950, 15-7PH TH1050, and 15-7PH CH900, allowing engineers to tailor mechanical properties for demanding spring and precision applications. This grade offers superior dimensional stability during aging, making it ideal for precision components that require consistent performance under cyclic or static loads.

1. ASTM A693 / ASME SA693 

ASTM A694 IS Standard Specification for Precipitation-Hardening Stainless and Heat-Resisting Steel Plate, Sheet, and Strip, with this standard, the material know as S15700 ,type is 633, This standard request Solution treatment in 1920+-25F and precipitation hardening treatment same as S17700 stainless steel Type 631.

Semi-austenitic spring stainless steel available in 15-7PH RH950, 15-7PH TH1050, 15-7PH CH900 heat treatment conditions (UNS S15700),With different final heat treatment temperature, the strength is 15-7PH CH900>15-7PH RH950>15-7PH TH1050.

Size Range: Based on ASTM A693 standard, we could supply Stainless steel Sheet / Strip: 0.1 – 3.0 mm thick for cold rolled type, and Width up to 1200 mm; And hot rolled Plate production range from: 3.0 to 100 mm thickness, width up to 3000 mm, No matter cold rolled type or Hot rolled type, we could provide Length  up to 12000 mm or can be customized. 

Surface: Annealed (Condition A), Bright, Ground, Pickled, No.1, 2B, Polished

Before delivery ,We will do Chemical analysis as per (C ≤0.09%, Cr 14‑16%, Ni 6.5‑7.75%, Al 0.75‑1.5%), tensile test per condition (RH950: Rm ≥1585 MPa, Rp0.2 ≥1480 MPa; TH1050: Rm ≥1310 MPa, Rp0.2 ≥1170 MPa; CH900: Rm ≥1720 MPa, Rp0.2 ≥1650 MPa), elongation (1‑5% depending on condition), hardness (CH900: ≥48 HRC), flattening test (for strip) and dimensional inspection. these information will show on MTC for final inspection.

2. ASTM A564 standard

 ASTM A564 specification covers bars and shapes of age-hardening stainless steels. Hot-finished or cold-finished rounds,squares, hexagons, bar shapes, angles, tees, and channels areincluded; these shapes may be produced by hot rolling,extruding, or forging. Billets or bars for reforging may be purchased to this specification.and this specification include different material grade,for example: S15700, S17700,S17400 etc, these are age-hardening material used in aerospace components, aircraft structural parts, springs machinng, valves shaft, fasteners bolts and nuts procesing, chemical processing equipment. 

Size Range:

  • Diameter: : 10-350mm, length can be 1meter,2meter or 6meter or customized length

Surface: Polished surface or Black as per request 

During production, the impact test shall consist of testing three Charpy V-notch Type A specimensin accordance with Methods and Definitions A370. The speci-mens shall be heat treated in accordance with 5.1. Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, the condition of hardening heat treatment shall be at the option of the producerand testing shall be done at 70 °F to 80 °F [20 °C to 25 °C].  When tested at temperatures other than 70 °F to 80 °F, [20 °C to 25 °C] theimpact test requirements will be as agreed upon by purchaser and producer.

(1)Springs – Considering 15-7PH properties and high strength after CH900 or RH950 treatmentl everages, the material could maintaining load stability and resisting relaxation over millions of cycles. so it is very popular choose for flat springs, coil springs, disc springs, leaf springs.

(2)Aerospace – 15-7PH stainless steel always used in landing gear springs, actuator springs, engine retainers ,beacuse this steel material have excellent fatigue resistance and dimensional stability under extreme temperature and vibration conditions.

(3)Diaphragms – 15-7PH stainless steel for diaphragms (pressure sensors, regulators, pumps, valves) offers high strength-to-thickness ratio with excellent elastic recovery and minimal creep, ensuring reliable deflection over extended service life.

(4)Washers – With after TH1050 or RH950 aging, 15-7PH stainless steel combines good spring physical properties with higher anit corrosion performance for washers,As it good choice for lock washers, Belleville washers, spring washers production
